Today, in class, we played a game called "The maze". But it was not the typical maze. The objective, however, was the same as the typical game, therefore we had to go on the right path to arrive to the end with success. The downside was that ( as we had to play with cards) we would have to go back to the beginning very often, because of the bad choices we made. In spite of that the game was simple, we were someone who had recently been was laid off and we had to choose one of the three options that had been given to us in order to succeed.
First of all, we had to decide if we were going on vacations ( to which we said 'no' right away) so we decided to look for jobs, despite of my arguing that we should take a risk. Then we all chose the same until we had to choose if we should accept the promotion that would keep us away from our family, or not. Of course, I said no because of the family, but it was a democratic discussion so we accepted the promotion and we were MADE REDOUNDANT and I laughed because we had to start all over again, because no one had listened to me. We did everything again but this time we decided not to take that promotion and we became a sales representative. We then got to create an company of wallpaper but we needed money so, after I made my point, I could convince them of asking the father for money. At the end we sold the firm to our father and the game came to an end.
We all liked the game, it was very interestng, and as we study economics I think we did a really good job. I think the objective was the same as the other, to listen, to reflect and to argue being concise at the same time, but now I know that was to to develop problem-solving too.
