Well, as I said before, I am going to write two posts today. This one, being the second one, is about our English class yesterday. We first had the individual presentation of Cat. Nascimento about Cape Verde and she talked about all the islands, and the main cities. Then she talked about culture and globalization and the teacher started an argument about culture, and globalization, its advantages and disadvantages. Some said that the reason that they didn't change their culture was because their culture is the main attractive of the island, because sun and beach you could have in Algarve. Others said that if Cape Verde, did in fact give in to globalization, its growth would be much bigger and it would have a faster and competitive economy. Teacher than said something, about culture = iceberg, because our culture is much deeper then what you see on the surface, it's something that grows with us, and I agree with that. I don't think anyone would be thinking about ways to change their culture... The only thing I didn't like the argument was when someone said that Portugal is backward, because I absolutely love my country It's not the best, but I'm really patriotic and when I heard that, it made me sick.
