This post will function as a sum up of the feedback that the teacher gave me about the posts I did before, but also about some things of the class, and at first I will talk about things that I really want to talk.
So, first, this Tuesday, Patricia, Marta and me went to eat Pizza together at Pizza Hut, because Patricia called us. We had the chance to catch up and talk about the new school and class of Patricia and also to talk about our class, her old class. It was fun, she liked
to know how everyone was going and we liked to hear the stories that she already has. The next thing I would like to talk is that my mother offered me a book of Agatha Christie but unfortunately I already had that one and when I went to the bookstore to swap they didn't have a book of Agatha Christie that I hadn't read before, at least one in Portuguese so I grabbed one in English and now I'm going to read that one as well as All my sons.... I think I can do it.
The book is called: "The seven dials mystery" of Agatha Christie as I said before.
Now to the sum up! The teacher wrote one commentary
that was like this: "You see there was a second (or perhaps first) objective in this exercise: the rules you had to follow.
Listening, reflecting, rephrasing …. And I really would like to have your views on this aspect.
Yes, I think we all realised it was an exercise to the debate and also an exercise to develop new and old skills that we got which weren't being developed on the groupwork we have been doing...
The second comment: "But you did not react! Why not? We would have liked to listen to your arguments.
Is it because you don’t feel at ease? Or you didn’t find the ‘right time’ to speak up? Or….?"I didn't react because the time was short, also I'm not the type of person that likes being the centre of attention, and I get freaked out, and I get really nervous with that... something I will have to change, with time.
Today we talked about Leadership and jobs, and we did two exercises that were meant to be done at home I think... We talked about some of the features of a good Leader, but I think I don't have all of those features, but one that I really appreciate in people in general is being assertive. I think everyone should be assertive, because that shows that you know what you are talking about, shows that you believe in what you are saying and that you have the arguments to do so. It also shows confidence in yourself, and I really like that feature in anyone because it annoys me when people complain about themselves... So annoying. Well, I realised now that maybe I will have to do another post today because I am going to do a presentation called " The science of attraction" with videos from BBC that I saw some time ago, and I always wanted to do a presentation on them, so we will see how that goes.
